Stoneywood Dyce Cricket Club - NL vs Forfarshire CC on 11th June, 2016

Forfarshire made the trip up the road, which they thought would be a swift trip up and back without any bother.

With the early toss, and rain about, we went batted first. However, the drizzle hung around and a delayed the start and reduced the game to 30 overs. SDCC began with a slow start, but wickets in hand was key. With the captain back after a week off, he held an end together well while the boxing kangaroo at the other end was landing some knock out blows!

Brayden was able to bring up his maiden SDCC Century. Brief stays by Matt and Ahklaq with 12 each off few balls we managed to get to a respectable target of 211.

Quick change over as the delicious tea was devoured before the start of play, we were in the field, and a quick start by Forfarshire meaning the game was taken away from us quickly, a wicket in Matt’s 2nd over could not slow them down.

A brilliant innings from Wallace (63) including some amazing slog sweeps off our seamers, saw them scrambling. A tight spell by Shaun, who took a wicket and a wicket at the other end from Jon was not quite enough. With them well ahead of Duckworth Lewis from the first over, they managed to get over the line with Beghin (59*) seeing them home with 5 overs to spare.

One of the best games we have played to date. And the most enjoyable, so promising things to come.

Forfarshire MOM: G Beghin for his 3-36 and 59*.

SDCC MoM: is definitely Brayden for his maiden century ending up on 115.

Highlight of the Match: Brayden bringing up his maiden NL ton with a monstrous six.
