We arrived at a sunny Duthie Park for our Bon Accord Cup game v Siyapa. We lost the toss and batted first on an interesting wicket. Jordan hit a nice straight 4 before playing too early and getting caught at mid off and both Jawad and Jamie got balls that popped a bit.
SDCC 8-3.
When Farhad was caught and Bruce was bowled, we were looking at a very early finish as SDCC fell to 17-5. However, first Stuart and David Rosie and then Martin and the captain put on decent partnerships to take us up to 68 all out.
After a short break, we went out to defend the total. David and the captain opened the bowling and each took a wicket early. Siyapa kept chipping away at the total while wickets fell thanks to good bowling from Farhad and Jordan. Unfortunately though, we didn't score quite enough and Siyapa got the winning runs with 2 wickets left.
A good close game played in good spirit by both teams. We play Siyapa next week in the league so have an early chance for revenge.
