Stoneywood Dyce Cricket Club - NL vs Grange CC on 30th July, 2016

After winning the toss, Shaun decided to bat first. Brayden and Shaun opened up and saw out the first few overs before Brayden was caught down the leg side for 0. Jack fell a few balls later also caught down the leg side for 0.

Shaun and Aker then began to rebuild the innings with a solid 50 partnership before Shaun departed to Grange skipper, Brock for 42.

Aker and Matt put on 27 before Aker was caught off leg spinner Aslam for 27. Ewan and Matt also put on 27 before Matt was stumped also off the bowling of Scotland u19 bowler, Aslam, for 29.

Andrew and Ewan put on a patient partnership of 43 to see us through the middle overs before Ewan was bowled by Sole for 30. This was the start of another SDCC collapse as Owen fell the very next ball with Michael and Andrew (23) following soon after. We had collapsed from 160-5 to 163-9 in the space of 2 overs. Jamie and David then went through their repertoire of shots as they saw of the final few overs and saw us end on 179-9, a very respectable total against a good bowling attack.

After tea, we headed to defend our target and opened up with Matt and Michael. Matt struck in the first over to remove Flannigan for 4. Grange 9-1.

This brought Scotland captain Preston Mommsen to the crease and he patiently saw off the new ball with Farrar. Jamie then got Farrar out, which was well caught at deep square leg by Brayden. Grange 84-2.

Jamie was bowling well and a few overs later had Baum caught behind by Andrew. Grange 117-3.

Brock was now at the crease with Mommsen and these 2 saw Grange comfortably chase down the runs required with almost 20 overs left.

Grange win by 7 wickets.

Grange MoM: There are a few contenders for the Grange MOTM but I think Brock’s tight spell of 1-19 off 10 overs and 38 not out just pips Mommsen’s patient 62 not out.

SDCC MoM: Shaun for his 42.

Highlight of the Match: A toss up betwween Jamie carving Sole for 4 and trying to avoid a Sole bouncer which was tweeted by a Grange supporter which can be viewed here:https://twitter.com/ramsay59/status/759392037288443905.
