Stoneywood Dyce Cricket Club - NL vs Heriots CC on 21st May, 2016

After a long journey down the road, the NL team took on Heriots CC.  The captain had a good toss and elected to bat with Shaun once again showing the rest of the team the dedication and effort it takes to play in the National League.  Wickets soon fell around him as he saw Brayden, Jordan, Jack and Ahklaq all depart leaving SDCC 28-4.   Around this Shaun was batting as if he was playing a different match as he caressed and stroked his way to another 50 putting on a 50 partnership with Matt (32) before the former was bowled by Hearn.  Wickets continued to tumble through the course of the innings with very little input from the rest of the batters except for Ewan (16) and Michael (10) as SDCC were all out for 132 in the 50th Over at least 70-80 runs short on a good batting wicket.  The pick of the bowlers being Adrian Neill with 3-16 off 11 overs and Mark Watt who bowled an excellent spell of 13 overs 1-16 that included 6 maidens.

With rain interrupting play through the second innings, Heriots CC opened up with former Scotland and SDCC opening bat, Steve Knox who came out guns blazing.  Knox was helped by some wayward bowling but played some great shots as Heriots raced to the revised D&L target of 102 inside 11 overs.  SDCC’s wicket went to Michael (1-11) to a catch by Brayden.

Heriots MoM: SDCC Alumni Steve Knox for his brutal 63* off 32 balls.

SDCC MoM: Captain Shaun for his 51.
